36"X120" Warner & Swasey SC 32 CNC Lathe With Fanuc 18TT

Professionally retrofitted to Fanuc 18TT control and extensively refurbished in 1997. The 18TT control is capable of both axis moving independently and as a result the machine is a 4-axis unit. The control is open (Not locked out like Mori Seiki, etc) and still supported by Fanuc, AC drives and servos on all axis except the 75HP DC spindle motor, which was retained for high torque smooth thread cutting performance.
32in German Schunk Rota Pneumatic chuck. (The chuck alone is worth over 100k CAD to replace) The spindle has around 19” inch through bore and the chuck itself has a 12.25” through bore. There is a taper on the back of the spindle for a second chuck.

Roughly 10 feet between centers, has a hydraulic actuated steady rest and a unique lower turret that is a 7in boring bar that is around 3 feet long which can hold 4 tools on the end of it and has tapered tailstock rings around the bar to hold tubular material and act as a tailstock which is completely programmable. If you have complex inside features of tube material that is large than 7in ID, this machine will save a bunch in tooling costs, machining time and ultimately allow for work to be completed that most machines cannot do.

This machine was highly maintained and intended to build very difficult to machine parts. It is very rigid (55,000lb) and highly regarded from those who have run these machines for oilfield work, the spindles are very robust and it is capable of taking heavy cuts all day long.
